I actually think a setting between f4 and f5.5 would be more useful. F5.5 is already around 1300-1500 lumens which is about the minimum most users today would be happy with and less than I think most of us want, especially with the screen materials that reduce speckle (and have correspondingly low gain). F4 is in the 2500 lumen range. For me and many others the sweet spot would be around 2000-2100 lumens, so something in between f4 and f5.5 would probably be perfect for a lot of us.
Hi Peter, our team has reviewed your suggestion regarding an additional iris step at F6.0. In fact, at the F5.5 iris setting, TITAN Noir Max already delivers an exceptional native contrast ratio of up to 8000:1, along with approximately 1500 usable ISO lumens. This setting achieves both improved native contrast and strong brightness performance. In addition, the system also supports a dynamic iris mode, further enhancing contrast performance while maintaining overall brightness. As a result, F5.5 and dynamic iris provide a well-balanced configuration between high native contrast and practical brightness for most viewing scenarios.
I agree both F5.5 and Dynamic provide an amazing viewing experience but for some with 100" - 120" screens even these options could be too bright while F7.0 could be too dim.
That is a subset of the following request https://xgimi.userjot.com/board/p/retain-manual-iris-setting…
I think removing F5.5 and replacing with an F5 and an F6 would make a lot of sense and give people more choice for getting the right combination of contrast and brightness for their set up and preferences. For me the jump from F5.5 to F7 with my Pro on screen is 48 nits to 98. Neither are ideal, something in between would be perfect for me for SDR in the absence of laser power control at these Iris levels.
