Make -/+ remote buttons configurable (not only for Volume)

There are a lot of things where a plus and minus button on the remote would be very handy for : - iris setting ... move through the apertures using - and + .. maybe not needed in the long run, ideal for testing and seeing the impact - laser brightness settings : move from 1 to 10 with - and +. Idem for "long run" - DBLE slider : move from -40 to +40 with - and + - 3D .:maybe a slider for 3D depth such as the Zidoo has ? Would be great to be able to control with the remote - cycle through the MEMC settings.... - there's probably a lot more I don't think of right now... There is only 1 thing I will NEVER use the -/+ for. For controlling the volume ... and that's exactly what they do now  A configurable user setting to choose what the -/+ buttons control would be great. (kind of like the shortcut buttons)

This is a great idea given so many of us with be using home theatre setups (eg AVR+speakers)

But that's the point ... I want to change something like the brightness or aperture WITHOUT going into the menu, so the effect is seen immediately .. On the other hand, you're correct too ..once you're in the menu , the -/+ should change the slider on the current screen.
