I wish it was more like the JVC, just small on the top left hand corner. Even that can be moved to wherever you want on the screen. And the new black one is transparent so you can see the image behind it. What we currently have is a Lifestyle proj menu.
I actually dont understand at all why anything especially main menu items would be truncated (cut off)... Ambient-Ada... & Optical Zoom & Le.... Those are main menu items and very important. If the UI cannot present those in a way to show the whole label then its a UIX fail. Also your > arrows are actually super inconsistent... For eg Keystone Settings has one... But Image Shift does not, both of those do actually lead somewhere to a new screen so why only one of them has a > arrow. Also your label grouping text is very small, and kind of confusing, Its also less bold. Thats a strange decision for UI navigation its not actually immediately obvious that it is actually grouping text, it looks just kind of placed there. I would think that those would be more bold and slightly bigger If you want the sectioning to stand out. I also feel like there is too much padding on all the menu text from one line to the next.
I feel like all the truncation is due to it being designed for Mandarin first. Needs to be better adapted to longer languages. French is typically 30% longer than English, can’t imagine what it likes like there.
Yes I did think that also, the Chinese characters probably took up very little space
The menu's are terrible. I am sorry having to get into "rant" mode, but this is a really really supid 'apple/google-tv' style trash GUI, not worthy of a professional product. All the space wasted arond text, text being way too large when yo consider that screens will start at 100". So much wasted space. Just look at menus from other competing vendors like Epson, JVC, Sony. The fonts can be smaller, the line spacing can be reduced, and then of course, there MUST BE NO SCROLLING TEXT !!!
